The Story: Jacob’s Well is a karst spring. A jewel of the Texas Hill Country. It originates from the Middle Trinity Aquifer, located in the Cypress Creek watershed. Jacob’s Well is the second-longest aquatic cave in the state of Texas. This subterranean cave serves as the headwaters for Cypress Creek and is a major tributary to the Blanco River. Both of these important waterways are often referred to as the lifeblood of the Wimberley Valley. The mystery, magnitude, and beauty of Jacob’s Well draws thousands of visitors from around the world to look into its watery depths and swim in one of the most refreshing springs in Texas.
